Details: Origin: Nuristan, Afghanistan Age: Circa 18th Century Dimensions: 8” Height x 9” Diameter Description: This latching container was hand-made in Nuristan. The dyes used are very unique to the people of Nuristan, and are coral and yellow in color. This one was likely used for jewelry or other valuables as indicated by the hand-made iron locking mechanism. “It has an art of western, because it was created and painted by Nuristan people who are the distnoted of Alexander the Great, who stayed and live in Afghanistan in big hundo kosh mountain. There are few families and tribes remains living in this area. Very attractive people blond hair and blue eyes.” There are very few of these left in the world, and this one would make a great conversation starter when placed on the table for decoration.
