Details: Origin: North Afghanistan Age: Circa 19th Century Dimensions: 16.5” Width x 19.5” Height Description: This amazing dowry gift was constructed using silver, and was decorated using gold plate and agate. Every detail was hand carved and each chain was hand-woven. The original artist spent a great amount of time to create this. The agates, silver tassels, and bird designs that surround the agates were added to extend good luck and good health to its original wearer, who in this case would have been the bride on her wedding night. The piece was crafted with many small holes between the metal. This was done by design to show a little bit of the bride’s skin, but not too much. This is a one-of-a-kind piece created specifically for the wedding as dowry peace , it is a masterpiece which can be created only by the Turkan artist using their ancient talent and expertise learning from fathers and generation to generation married couple would cherish this for the rest of their lives.
