About this piece

Details: Origin: Kabul, Afghanistan Age: Circa 1990 Dimensions: 10” height, 5” diameter, 3.5” opening Description: This one-of-a-kind Lapis Lazuli Flower Vase was made by a master artist and is comprised of lapis lazuli that was naturally sourced from the mines in Afghanistan. The deep blue color is accented by veins of pyrite that run through each piece of stone. Approximately 20 pounds of lapis lazuli was required to make this vase. Because each piece of lapis has to be cut and shaped, much of the stone goes unused. The vase is very sturdy, strong, and well made and was intended to be given as a gift.
