About this piece
Details: Origin: Isfahan, Iran Age: Circa 19th Century Dimensions: 22” Height x 11” Diameter x 7.5” Mouth Description: These large antique vases were beautifully handmade out of the fine clay from the city of Isfahan, Iran. The colors are all made with natural dyes. The intricate designs of growing flowers, birds, fish, and other symbols that represent spring reveals that they are specifically made to be used on New Year’s Day. The natural symbols are intended to remind people to be like nature and to avoid over-complicating their lives. The fish designs are specifically added to remind people of a good, simple life full of clarity. It is said that just as fish swim in and drink clear water, human beings should also be thirsty for clarity, simplicity, and elevated spirituality.
