About this piece
Details: Origin: Afghanistan Age: Recently Made Dimensions: 60” x 41” or 3’x5’ Description: This pile rug was hand-woven in Afghanistan from fine sheep wool and colored with natural dyes made by a Kazakh artist using wool and silk. The very famous geometric designs come from Kazakhstan and were used for rugs like this for many years. The symbols are meant to convey good luck and good energy. The knots are very tight, and the pile was cut very low in order to show the design in great clarity.
