Details: Origin: North Afghanistan Age (Silver Beads): 150-200 Years Old Age (Coral Beads): 200-300 Years Old Dimensions: 22 ” Length Description: This Ancient Coral and Silver Telesma Necklace came from a family of Kazakh people, and features real, individually hand-carved coral beads that are likely 200-300 years old. The cylindrical telesma beads are made from silver and have written prayers sealed inside of each one. It is said that the energy of the prayer is retained as long as the containers remained sealed. The person that commissioned the creation of this necklace specifically asked a holy man to chose prayers or blessings that correlated to their wishes and desires. After these prayers or blessings were written on small pieces of paper, the requester took the prayers or blessings to the jeweler, where they were sealed into the round, silver cylinders. The original commissioner of this piece was a woman who was in love, as signified by each of the two cylinders joined into one bead.
