Details: Origin: Japan Age: Circa 19th Century Dimensions: 4.5” height, 4” wide, 7” long Description: This authentic, hand-made Gardener teapot was specially designed for the royal families in Afghanistan, where drinking tea was common. During the 19th century, the best teapots were made in Japan, where they also drink a lot of tea. Gardener was a well known Japanese maker of these tea pots. The royal families of Afghanistan wanted to serve tea to their guests and dignitaries in real Japanese teapots. These Gardener tea pots were hand-made in Japan and China and then imported to Afghanistan. These special Afghanistan imported Gardener teapots can be distinguished by the brand name Gardener written in Farsi on the bottom. This authentic, hand-made Gardener tea set includes a matching tea pot, saucer, and tea cup. The saucer has a 5” diameter and the teacup has a 3” diameter.
