Details: Origin: Mazar-i-Sharif, Afghanistan Age (Necklace): Over 100 Years Old Age (Coins): Over 200 Years Old Dimensions: 31 ” Length Description: This Ancient Qajar Coin and Lapis Lazuli Necklace was made in the city of Mazar-i-Sharif in North Afghanistan. The coins are authentic, and made from pure silver . Each one has a lion , a symbol of the kingdom of Qajar, revealing that they are from the kingdom of Iran, and are over 200 years old. They are highly collectible. The coins were likely given as part of a dowry gift and have been modified from their original use as currency to be used as decorative pieces on this necklace. The necklace also contains round, roughly carved and polished lapis lazuli beads with star designs on them that represent the artist’s beliefs, and are said to bring good luck to its wearer. The piece is made to demonstrate wealth and money, although not in the same way as gold . This neckace contains approximately 200 grams of lapis lazuli .
