Details: Origin: Nuristan Age: Circa 1950 Dimensions: 27” Length x 12” Width x 6” Height Description: This antique traditional musical instrument comes from the villages of Nuristan. It has a unique sound and is most often played without drums or tablah. The front of the instrument has been decorated with several mirrors. The person playing the instrument would acknowledge the people watching or dancing to the music by reflecting the light from the sun onto them. The tuners have telesma attached that are meant to keep bad eyes and bad energy away.
